Once again, we weep; once again we are angered by the
senseless loss of life and a blatant attack on worshipers in
Jesus. On Sunday a 26-year old man, filled with demonic
rage, massacred 26 people, aged 18 months to 77 years, at a
small church in Sutherland, Texas. Once again, politicians
rail on guns and people are polarized--and the heart of
Jesus breaks for those in need.
As we gather
our families close to communicate our love, and as we gather
with our congregations to pray and minister His presence in
this time of confusion, remember that
God so loved the world
that He gave. He gave to the needy, those in despair,
those whose hearts are broken. And He calls us to minister
hope in a dark and trying time.
As dedicated believers, let us continue in powerful
prayer—pray for those who are critically injured whose lives
hang in the balance; pray for the families changed forever,
pray for the hurting community torn by grief—and pray for
fresh revival in our nation. And always, let us
Hold Fast our
Confession (Hebrews 4:14 NKJV) that Jesus continues to
be the ONLY answer in this world that so needs Him.
